Is Cedar Point more crowded at the beginning of July, or towards the end?

We're thinking of booking a trip around the 7th, because originally we were going to book it on July 4th but we're too busy. We don't have too much money and we noticed the price goes up as you get further through the month (Cedar Point Hotels). Basically, what times of the year is CP most crowded? (excluding anytime before today)
