My puppy bit my lip, now I have something that looks like a cold sore there. What is going on?

I went to give my puppy a kiss the other morning and in her excitement she nipped at my lip. I now have what looks like a cold sore there and my whole upper lip is super swollen, and I've never had a cold sore before in my life. It just so happens that this has been a big medical week for me starting with me going to the ER for left flank pain. I thought I had just slept funny, but as the day went on , I was barely able to move or breathe. After some tests, a pelvic exam, and a CT of my kidney, they said I had a couple things not really related. They said I have Pyelonephritis, bacterial vaginosis, and after the vaginal exam and tests came back the labs said I have e. coli. Not sure if any of this is related at all. But I'm on two antibiotics and Tramadol for pain which I think I'm alergic to because after a day of taking that I work up in more pain and it felt more like joint or muscle pain. Yet I've never had any problem with things like Vicodin or Percocet. Does anybody have any clue as to what is going on with me? I especially want to know what this sore on my lip is.
