We just broke up.....but she is trying to see me...why?

We are both in our late 20's. It was a pretty serious relationship. She said we need a break because it was too much intimacy and she never expected so much intensity this and that. Anyways so she has sent me two texts because she wants to bring me something I left in her apartment. We broke up mostly because I believe I was too needy. Now it has not even been 24 hours. I think it is too soon (because I actually do want to be with her but want more respect). I still have not responded to her texts and I know this is probably making her freak out. I am going to be extremely careful now. Does anybody have any advice? I prefer someone who is knowledgable in social dynamics. Though any advice would be wonderful. However for those interested, this would mean you have read either "The Selfish Gene" or "Evolution of Desire". Or you have a familiarity with the work of Neil Strauss among some other writers. I am being very careful with this one. I have finally attained the upper hand. I am using my mind and not my emotions for this one. Thank you so much for your time.
